Fantasy 5: Week 9

Big Ben

1. Will Big Ben stay hot?

Big Ben had himself a day this past weekend. He threw for 522 yards and 6 touchdowns. Every time Big Ben took the field Sunday, he was putting on an absolute show. Every single person who could possibly catch a pass for the Steelers caught one, even Heyward-Bey had 2 catches. The question is: was this a fluke or will Big Ben stay hot? I think he will stay hot. Why? Because what he did last week was against the Colts who had shut out the Ravens the week before. With Le’Veon Bell struggling to get into the endzone, Pitt will rely on Big Ben’s arm to carry them, and that’s perfect for fantasy owners.

2. Who is the best player to own on the Broncos besides Manning?

I really like Demaryius Thomas. He is right behind Dez Bryant on my wide receiver man-crush list. Thomas is the #1 guy in Denver because of his big play ability– every time he touches the ball, it seems like he is getting 30 yards or a touchdown. I also think teams are going to start blanketing Julius Thomas in the red zone meaning more opportunities for Demaryius.

3. Who are the Top 5 fantasy players this week?

My #1 is Peyton Manning going up against New England. I think this one is going to be a shootout, and he is going to be throwing it all over the place. I guarantee he will get 20+ points.

#2 is Demarco Murray. With Tony Romo ailing, Murray may just run the ball 40 times. He would be my #1, but the Cardinals defense is pretty good. That being said, he will get 100 yards and at least one touchdown.

#3 is Andrew Luck. He is about to be the next fantasy QB stud. Playing the Giants should mean another multi-touchdown game.

My #4 ranked player is Antonio Brown. He will see 10+ targets and is almost a guarantee to get 100 yards and/or a touchdown.

#5 is Jamaal Charles. Wasn’t too long ago that Branden Oliver, the Chargers 4th string back, accounted for 150+ yards out of the backfield against the Jets. Charles will get 100 and a touchdown.

4. Who is a stud I should think about not playing?

I’m going to say Mike Wallace might not have his best week. He is coming off a week where he caught two passes and will be going against a tough San Diego Chargers D that really gets after the quarterback. That means Ryan Tannehill will have a tough time getting the ball to his deep threat.

5. Who is a good pickup?

Martavis Bryant (WR, Pittsburgh Steelers): He has played two games this year and has been very good in both. Pittsburgh can’t throw the ball to Brown every play, and Wheaton has been very underwhelming.
